In the Beginning . . .

Creation and the Gods

What creation story would be complete without these words? In the beginning, there were three entities, three beings with unfathomable powers. Strengths, abilities, and domains beyond understanding. They existed alone for innumerable ages before they became what they are known as today. They were, before deliniating, Primal Nature, Primal Change, and Primal Balance. They would later become Water, Death and Darkness respectively. These elements were the only constants, the only forevers. It was from these three that all others came to be, for they learned through their eternities just which areas they wished to pass governance over. The problem was, no others existed beyond themselves, and so, left with no real alternative, they simply compartmentalized their powers into separate consciousnesses, leading to the eventual existence of fourteen individual powers separated by Tiers. First Tier were the parents themselves, the Trinity. They bore the Second Tier directly and immediately upon making their decisions. Middle Tier came to be around the same time Third Tier was created, but they differ greatly. Third Tier were the children of the children, born of Second Tier's desire to pass domain of certain other aspects of their birth powers. Middle Tier, however, were the latter born children of the Trinity, of which there are only two. When the gods set down to create between them a world wherein other beings thrived, they determined that the best way to allow their influence free access to balance and maintain their creations without the need for constant vigilance was to create Earthbound Children. They became known by many names, so titled by various races. The Maiyenin call them the Ancients, or Ancient Ones, the Amalayel name them Elder Brother or Sister (see Amalayel for further explanation) depending upon of which sex they speak. Humans, however, name them Dragon, and write myth and song to surround them as no other race has done before, born of their deeper disconnection to the Eldest race. They, themselves, however, still recall the truth, and name themselves Earthbound Children, as their parents once did and still do.

In each deity's description will be included which Tier they are in, and from which other they are born.

Anthia, the Goddess and Mistress of all that is Dark and unknown. She is known as the Secret Keeper, and Lady of Lies for she has a keen and open ear and protects those secrets and those in her sight without hesitation, even if it means that lies are born of her efforts. Like her Sister and Brother, she holds sway over the unconscious mind, lending guidance in dreams and aid in both remembering and interpreting them.

Rheianna, cool Mistress of Water, energy, emotions. She holds some sway in the land of dreams, deaing with the subconscious emotions repressed when awake. She aids in dream magic, dream lucidity, and protects the dreamer's unattended body. Most prominant, however, is her sway over psychic energies. Clairvoiance, clairaudience, psychometry, precognisance, empathy, etc., with special focus on the emotional state and its healthy maintenance. Mother of the other elements of Fire, Earth, and Air.

Rhune, God of Death, decay, and the spirit world. He shares domain over dreams with his First Sisters Rheianna and Anthia, though too does he rule the realm of the dead and those who have passed from one stage to another. In dreams he aids in travel between the different dreaming realms, and in seeking those who may lend the most aid in waking life. He is not the end of all things, but what remains of Primal Change. He is the forever constant, which is still that change is the only constant. He may be the catalyst to ignite adventure, or the seductive whisper to embrace the beyond. Either way, he is as inevitable as the transition between day and night.
Tool: Black-Amethyst.

[The term "son" or "daughter" is relative. There was no partner, as we would understand it, in the creation of each subsequent God, so there are no shared parentage for the "children".]
