The Rules

First and foremost, let me welcome you. Though there is a lot of information spread out amongst the pages here, if you can make your way through it, you just might have a good time.

1) All characters played within Eleasia must be residents of Eleasia. If you wish to play an established character of your own, you must modify them to fit within the boundaries of the realm. This means there are no anthros, no hellspawn, no Rhydinians(*Edit* I have no idea if Rhydin even exists any more, but it was, at one time, a hub for AOL RP), no modern chars, or anything else of that nature. If you are bringing over a beloved elf character, I direct you to check out the Maiyenin, under playable characters. Wizards and Mages need check the magic page, and will be human.

2) All fights are free form. You may not mode. If someone posts an attack, you must respond to the attack, even if that response is a dodge. Your character cannot dodge everything, however, nor can it make attacks that cannot be avoided. Along with this is the understanding that you do not type the other person's response, i.e. *he threw the chair and broke Thewbold's neck.* It's up to Thewbold if his neck breaks or not.

3) Only the Gods are omnipotent.

4) The Gods are fully intended to be PC's, but being so early in the game, are more or less energy ideas than anything else. However, if you wish to play one you must have a character strongly aligned with the God you wish to play, log all sessions to prove yourself to be a competant/trustworthy player, as well as a good portrayer of the God's element, and be established within Eleasia for no less than two months. You may not NPC a God encounter, but you may discuss an encounter with the webmistress to further a storyline.

5) Acceptable identifiers for OOC: (( )), [ ], {{ }}, [[ ]], and any similar variation. ( ) is inacceptable as it can be seen as an aside IC.

6) Acceptable identifiers for IC actions: :: ::, - -, and similar variations. Keep it simple. Actions may be dictated without any identifier so long as speech is then put within "quotations", if you wish to give your session a more story like quality.

7) Things said OOC may not be used IC for any reason.

8) If your character has telepathy, respect the minds of those around you. Surface thoughts may be felt, but if a character is thinking of doing something underhanded (ex. stealing someone's money purse), you cannot read their minds. Exception: you have already discussed with them OOC in a pm and they have accepted to let you read their thoughts; IC the chars have discussed it and their char has invited you to read their thoughts.

9) You may not dictate the actions of others(see above rule 2). Ex. Your chars are fighting and you throw a chair at someone. You may not then say the chair slams into them, splinters, and pierces their lungs so that they are incapacitated. Once the chair is thrown, it is beyond you to act for it. It is now your opponant's turn to react.

10) You may not kill someone's char without expressed permission.

11) Cyber is not allowed in the room/on the message boards, neither is it entirely encouraged. If you feel it is an essential part of your storyline, you may take it somewhere else.

12) Shorthand is to be used exclusively in OOC conversation. Use of "u" for you, "r" for are, "walx", "wuz", "wat", are unacceptable, though, and fiercely frowned upon, even OOC.

13) Nothing IC should be taken personally OOC. If you have a problem with someone's character, either stop playing with them, let your char express this to theirs, or report their behavior. Note: depending on their actions, Moderator intervention is not guarenteed.

14) If your character is a dragon over the age of 3,000, or an elf over the age of 2,000, you will play them as mature and civilized with the implied history that two to three THOUSAND YEARS would contain. Disregard to this rule will get your character deleted. You will then be required to make a new character within your means to play.

15) Magic is not a toy. The residents of Eleasia take it very seriously and so should you. It is not as common a phenomenon as it is in other realms. For Maiyenin it can be considered a genetic defect, something that is uncommon and potentially deadly to the Maiyen. Follow this link for further rules on magic.

16) Multiple characters ARE allowed. The creator and owner of this site, herself, has multiple characters based within Eleasia and will play them at will.

17) For each character there must be a profile. Upon acceptance to Eleasia, within 14 days, a profile must be provided to eleasia@gmail.com so that it may be linked to your name under the roster page for easy reference.

18) If you wish to open a room of your own under Eleasia, please leave notice on the message board so that others will know how to reach it, and when it will be expected to be open. Please use the provided server, rather than other chat services as others may not have the same set up, and therefore be excluded. You may set up a chat, recruitment or otherwise, under whatever server you wish, provided you place notice on the board for those with the same service to join. Current chat server found here: Log In . No password required to enter the main lobby, however, if you wish to create a room to play strictly with other Eleasians, create the room as public, but input a password. Remember to note the password on the message board so that others will be able to enter. Rooms created on this service will disappear after about half a minute when no one is in them. If this system become too great a hassle, we'll work something else out. Until then, we're winging it.

19) All guild, and business ideas must be approved before being implemented. Taverns may be opened without approval, however, specific names should be registered to whomever wishes to open it regularly so that no one steals another tavern's name(to register, simply send an e-mail to eleasia@gmail.com with the subject line: Eleasia: Tavern Registration. If the name is not already taken, it's yours).

20) Recruitment is allowed without notice. Provide applicants with links to this site.
